Mary Crabtree, SBA Fellow, has studied botanical art and illustration with the Denver Botanic Gardens, Colorado, USA, the Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh, UK, and with renowned botanical artists worldwide. In addition to the Society of Botanical Artists, Mary is an active member of the American Society of Botanical Artists, the Rocky Mountain Society of Botanical Artists, and the Association of Botanical Artists. Her artwork has been exhibited in juried exhibitions in the USA and UK. Working in watercolor and colored pencil, Mary’s artwork focuses on depicting the beauty and rugged character of native plants and wildflowers. Through her artwork she hopes to highlight the value of these flora in our planet’s ecosystems, focusing attention on the crucial interdependencies of nature.
